Jana’s roots are in the Orlické Mountains in the Czech Republic. She came to the Elbe Valley 15 years ago and fell in love with Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland. She is an experienced teacher and enjoys passing on her knowledge not only to groups of children and adults, but also to people with disabilities who would like to get to know this wonderful landscape with all their senses. In addition, you will hear the stories of a region where two cultures have been mixing since the dawn of time.

Saxon Switzerland National Park is always worth a visit. You can get to know the park on many paths. Let’s leave the tourist hotspots and tune in together into the pure pleasure Saxon Switzerland. I love showing our unique nature to hiking groups and individual guests: sandstone which has been crumbling for centuries, leaving a fascinating world of rocks and gorges. Roaming with passion… that’s who I am. My offers for hikes in the entire national park region are available on www.waldzeiten.de/wanderungen.

At his guided hikes Thomas focuses on many aspects of this landscape, for example its natural and cultural history, animals and plants or facts and history of climbing. He can also relate to issues of nature conservation in general and for Saxon Switzerland National Park in particular. To discover exciting details by the wayside is one feature of his hikes, as these small things often get overlooked.

While volunteering at the national park’s visitor centre Ute explored Saxon Switzerland and fell in love with this region. She enjoys sparking the same excitement in her guests of all ages when hiking with them. She introduces them to special topics such as animal and plant life, nature conservation, geology, natural and cultural history. Ute has a degree in entomology and therefore offers a vast knowledge on insects. A dead tree might hold a microcosm of life – why not explore the infinity of the tiniest aspects of nature?
