You want to get in tune with the nature and culture of Saxon Switzerland? You are traveling through the region with your children? Or you are looking for interesting events – no matter what time of year? The Saxon Switzerland National Park Centre in Bad Schandau is the central visitor and information center of the National Park.
The German and Czech bilingual, interactive exhibition is operated by the Saxon State Conservation Foundation. With its resources the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU) enabled the construction of this house, which opened its doors in October 2001.

The National Park Centre is a visitor attraction on one hand, and a meeting and educational facility on the other. Families are more than welcome, and expert visitors will get their money’s worth too! Permanent and temporary exhibitions and a large multi-vision show convey unique impressions from the National Park.
The number of events are tailored not only to travelers, but also especially to the local population. Furthermore, the employees attend to local and regional agenda initiatives and promote the German-Czech cooperation.
Experimenting and understanding
The National Park Centre attracts children as well as adults with its many interactive experience and information services. Topics such as geology, flora and fauna, land use history and cultural landscape of the region are presented in exciting ways.
