In the picturesque valley of the Wesenitz, we hike through former quarries, pass many mills and a big monument for a musician. We can imagine the difficult conditions under which the sandstone for many large buildings far beyond Saxony was and is extracted. Are they actually real, the truly wild animals in the national park? Where, if not here – you may rightly ask. It is supposed to exist here, nature untouched by humans.
