Trail information

Information on currently closed trails in the National Park Region

Click on ‘All current trail closures’ to access an overview of all reported closures. There you can call up a detailed page with further information on each closure. ‘Active’ means that the closure is currently valid; these closures also appear on the interactive map below. Closures that are no longer valid can also be displayed there, you can show them by un-ticking the ‘active warnings only’ box and reloading the page.

In the interactive map, closures or impassable trails are displayed as moving dashed red or orange lines or shapes. When you click on a closure on the interactive map, you will receive a brief summary and the option to display a diversion, if available. You can also click on the diversions to display some important information. Please note: We use Mapy.com as our background map, which displays hiking trails with a coloured line to make orientation easier. Red lines in the background map are not closures, they are hiking trails marked with a red dot or red dash. Closure lines are dashed and animated.

Paths in the national park region regularly have to be cleared and repaired. Traffic safety measures on emergency routes may also necessitate temporary road closures. So that you can still plan your tour safely, we provide you with all the latest information on closures, restrictions and suitable diversions here. Our rangers will also signpost the diversions on site.

Please note that there is a high risk of dead trees and collapsing deadwood on many paths throughout the National Park. Some paths that are at high risk of tree breakage or are already inaccessible due to many fallen trees and which cannot be cleared at present for health and safety reasons have been declared temporarily impassable. For your own safety, please refrain from using them until the situation has eased.

Within the National Park, it is not permitted to enter the areas outside the paths. In the core zone, only marked and signposted paths may be used.

Outside the National Park, the forest is sustainably managed, which can occasionally lead to short or medium-term closures due to logging. Please be sure to observe these closures, as there is a danger to life in areas with ongoing forestry work. In these areas, pay particular attention to the closures signposted on site.

There is a separate service page for the Forststeig trekking route, on which closures that concern the trekking route are announced separately.
