Gudrun Stark: “Local Wildlife – Up Close”

Gudrun Stark, born in Radeberg in 1959, has lived and worked in Stolpen since 2003. From 1993 to 1996, she completed a distance learning program at the “Neue Kunstschule Zürich.”

Her main field of activity is representational painting. She finds her motifs in landscapes and nature, portraits, and animals, and creates commissioned works. She also illustrates books and publishes annual calendars featuring her work. She has been working as a freelance artist since 1997.

Her paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions in numerous locations throughout Saxony, including galleries in Dresden, as well as in Upper Lusatia, Mecklenburg, the Czech Republic, and Sweden.

Together with her husband, she observes and photographs local wildlife in the surrounding countryside, in northern Germany, and in Upper Lusatia, drawing inspiration for her works, which she often creates using acrylics.

The exhibition can be viewed during the opening hours of the Saxon Switzerland National Park Center (daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) through September 11, 2026 .
