Photo Exhibition “Rays of Hope on the Malerweg”

For 20 years, the Malerweg has wound its way through one of Germany’s most impressive landscapes. Even the Romantic-era painters drew inspiration from the unique light, the cliffs, the vast expanses, and the moments of tranquility—a fascination that continues to this day. To mark the anniversary, the Saxon Switzerland Tourism Association (Tourismusverband Sächsische Schweiz e. V.) launched the “Lichtblicke am Malerweg” photography contest. The award-winning photographs in the two categories—“The Malerweg Through the Changing Seasons” and “Historical Painters’ Views—Then and Now”—show Saxon Switzerland from a contemporary perspective—sometimes atmospheric and serene, sometimes powerful and expansive. Discover impressive viewpoints, surprising lighting effects, and personal interpretations along the Malerweg. The award-winning works invite you to rediscover the landscape along the Malerweg.
