Forest Experience Centre (Walderlebniszentrum) in Leupoldishain

In the lovingly designed outdoor area of our Forest Experience Centre (Walderlebniszentrum) in Leupoldishain, we offer everyone the opportunity to experience the forest and nature. Our offerings are based on the motto ‘Experience the forest with all your senses, barrier-free’.

Children can satisfy their natural urge to move around at the pond, on the barefoot path, on the low ropes course and also in the willow tunnel. The swing can be converted for wheelchair users upon request.

Another special feature is our ant house: in the formicarium, you can observe the life of forest ants up close.

During a visit to the Forest Experience Centre, you will learn about nature and its inhabitants in an informative and playful way. In a very small space, the different habitats of forest, meadow, pond, stone and brushwood piles are connected and invite you to discover and explore. In addition, we explain many natural phenomena on various display boards. 

From the Forest Experience Centre, you can enjoy a wonderful view all the way to Ungerberg, the northern end of the Saxon Switzerland natural area. Königstein Fortress, Lilienstein, Pfaffenstein and Quirl are all part of the picturesque panorama. Seating areas, the grounds with their exciting design and the beautiful view invite you to linger.
