Closure of Großer Zschand

From 1 September 2025 until the end of February 2026, construction work will take place in Großer Zschand. The Malerweg is not affected by the construction work.

From 1 September, the Neumannmühle parking area is completely closed. We therefore recommend using public transport or planning hikes with other starting points, e.g. from Ottendorf (parking area in the village) or Sturmbauers Eck. The Neumannmühle, Buschmühle and Zeughaus restaurants remain open. Access to the toilet at the Neumannmühle car park is still possible on foot.

From 15 September, the construction work will be carried out on the entire stretch between Neumannmühle and Zeughaus. Pedestrians can then reach Zeughaus via Buschmühle - Hohlfelds Graben - Flügel E - Dreisteigensteig or Saupsdorfer Weg. Cyclists can follow the Kirnitzschtalstraße to the entrance to Kirnitzschtal, then follow the cycle route to Thorwaldbrücke bridge and from there to Zeughaus.
