Closure of Wehlener Grund

Update 15 December 2025: The closure will be paused between Christmas and New Year's Day. At the beginning of 2026, there will be a further closure of a few days, during which minor repair work will be undertaken. 

Due to construction work, the Wehlener Grund is closed from 28 August until the end of 2025. 

The diversion for hikers leads via Steinrücken and is about 500 m longer. 

The cycling route between Basteistraße and Stadt Wehlen is closed as well. Please use Dorf Wehlen - Wehlener Straße - S 165 - Basteistraße or Elberadweg to Kurort Rathen instead.
