Closures around Unger

Forestry work will take place in the Unger forest area in the Unger forestry district from 20 November 2025 until 30 March 2026. This affects the Mittelweg, Tännigtweg, Hungerweg, Georgenweg, Kammweg and Bahnhofsweg hiking trails as well as the Ungerbergstraße. In connection with the forestry work, there will also be traffic disruptions / traffic lights on the state road between Rugiswalde and Neustadt.

The closures will be small-scale and in sections only in the current work area, not in the entire felling block; depending on the weather, the areas of operation will shift. The closures signposted on site must be observed at all times. All paths will always be open and safe to use over the weekends.

Please note that areas used for parking are piling areas for logging work. Even if there is no active closure, for safety reasons it is not permitted to park in the immediate vicinity of wood piles. Please keep a sufficient distance to them.
