Forestry work around Quirl

From 21 January to 21 February 2026, forestry work will be carried out on the north and west sides of the Quirl in the Königstein district. The work will also affect the Malerweg (please observe the closure signs on site). The Kirchleitenstraße is also closed.

Until the work around the Kanonenweg is finished and the diversion can be changed to include the Quirl, Malerweg hikers should take the ‘Bequemer Weg’ at the foot of the Pfaffenstein to get back to Pfaffendorf and use the green dot hiking trail to get back onto the Malerweg. The Quirl is skipped in this case. This page will be updated with the new diversion route once possible.
