Closure near Kuhstall

From 24 November to 28 November 2025, forestry work will take place in the Hausberg forest area at the Kuhstall. This will require the Haussteig between the Räumichtweg and Nassweg junctions and the Fremdenweg between Kuhstall and the Nassweg junction (this section affects the Malerweg) to be closed. The paths are only closed on weekdays and open at weekends. 

Hikers travelling to the Kuhstall from the Lichtenhain waterfall should use the Alte Kuhstallstraße or the Hausbergstraße (in the map ‘Alte Straße’) from the Kirnitzschtal. A circular route can be planned by including the Flößersteig and the western part of the Haussteig (Försterwehrbrücke - Alte Kuhstallstraße).

Malerweg hikers can take the alternative route from Kuhstall via Hausbergstraße and Flößersteig to reach the Felsenmühle. From there, you can follow the normal Malerweg route again. This diversion is drawn in the interactive map and about 1.2 km longer than the original route.
